‘Summer House’ star KJ Dillard made a very personal revelation at the season 10 reunion that she was hospitalized for self-harm after the season ended and was subsequently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. The 28-year-old opened up about the experience in the first part of the reunion, which aired on Tuesday, May 26, as co-stars Ciara Miller and Mia Calabrese stood by her throughout the ordeal.Dillard, who joined the cast in the summer of 2025, told host Andy Cohen that the two women were close during what she described as “some heavy stuff mentally” in the months following filming.

“I actually had to go to hospital for self-harm,” she said. “I was there for a week. Mia and Ciara were there almost every day.” Dillard broke down in tears as she shared the news, hugging her co-star Jesse Solomon. He said he spent a few months recovering after being hospitalized. “I need to focus on myself. I needed that,” he said.Dillard also reflected on the patterns he recognized in himself before the crisis. “My whole life, I was distracted and ran away from my problems instead of facing them,” she said, adding that she is now in therapy and on medication.While in the hospital, he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, a serious mental illness that affects the way a person feels about himself and others and can make it difficult to function in everyday life.

Despite the hardships of his experience, Dillard expressed genuine gratitude for coming out on the other side. “I’m thankful that I’m here alive because I couldn’t be. I’m thankful for the support of my friends. Like everyone here has shown in some way in their own way. So I’m thankful for that,” he said.She also spoke about her decision to share her story publicly. “I’m very grateful that the audience accepts that, because it’s my truth. I won’t be honest about what I’m going through, especially if it can help others,” he added.Costar Jesse Solomon was visibly moved, telling Dillard, “I feel for you. I’m glad you’re good because I don’t want anyone to go through that.” Carl Radke added that KJ “will continue to do great things.”Dillard first joined “Summer House” in Season 10, and quickly became one of the newest additions to the Bravo reality series in a long time.
