Rosalía apologizes for her comments about Pablo Picasso
After saying that she admires Picasso and that she cannot separate art from the artist, Rosalía received a lot of criticism from online networks. Many mentioned that the famous painter had a controversial history and that Rosalía’s support was not something they appreciated. After the backlash, on March 14, he posted a video on a popular video content sharing platform and openly apologized for his mistake. “I’m not happy with what happened when I spoke about Picasso. I’m not at peace with what I said about Picasso. Everyone says I shouldn’t make a video, I shouldn’t answer, I shouldn’t say anything,” he shared, revealing that he was waiting for the right moment and words.Adding more details on the matter, the singer shared: “I personally thought Picasso was a great man, as people have said before. But I didn’t know there were real cases of abuse. I want to apologize if there was a lack of sensitivity on my part in my conversation with Mariana, and a complete lack of empathy for those women and their testimony.”Many pointed out that Picasso was known to abuse women in his time, and according to Reuters, a protest was also held at the Picasso museum in 2021 for the same reason.
