Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again extended the last date for Class 12 students to apply for scanned copies of their examined answer sheets. Students can now submit their applications till 25th May 2026 midnight. Earlier, the last date was May 24.In an official notice, the board said the deadline has been extended to give students “sufficient time” to apply for the facility. CBSE also asked the students to use extra time and complete the process within the revised schedule.The board clarified that all other rules, terms and conditions related to the facility will remain unchanged.CBSE further informed that the dates for applying for re-examination will be announced separately soon. According to the notice, the revaluation portal will remain open for at least two days while the final scanned copy of the examined answer book will be made available to the students.

How to Apply for Scanned Copies of Answer Sheets

Students who want to get scanned copies of their checked answer books can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official CBSE portal at pvr.cbseit.in
  2. Click on the link for the Scan Copy application on the home page.
  3. Enter the required login credentials.
  4. Submit the details and proceed to payment.
  5. Pay the application fee online.
  6. Download the confirmation page after successful submission.
  7. Keep a printed copy for future reference

CBSE has set a fee of ₹100 per subject for obtaining scanned answer sheets. The amount has been significantly reduced from the earlier ₹700 fee, making the process more affordable for students.Meanwhile, the Union Education Ministry has directed CBSE to improve its payment gateway and revaluation system as many students have reported failed payments, duplicate deductions and portal crashes during post-result services.Following talks between Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, four public sector banks – State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank – have been asked to strengthen payment infrastructure for smooth transactions.Experts from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur are also assisting CBSE in resolving technical issues related to server performance, login access, and stability of the portal.The initiative aims to create a more reliable and student-friendly system for post-result services such as verification of marks, revaluation, and obtaining scanned answer sheets.Read the official notice Here
