Speaking in a recent interview with Faridoon Shahryar, Rahman shared his thoughts on teaming up with Zimmer, whose work has won him two Oscars and four Grammys.“I think it’s an epic collaboration. Making a film that is also ours, from our country and culture. Bringing it to the world almost like an ambassador, to non-Indians,” Rahman said.The Oscar-winning composer explained how Zimmer’s global fame could bring international attention to the film. “His name will definitely lead many people to watch the film. At least a certain section will see what Hans Zimmer has done in an Indian film,” he added.Rahman also praised Zimmer’s artistic vision and influence on generations of musicians. “He has also worn many hats. He is a true artist who thinks differently than other people. He set a standard while inspiring generations. It is definitely an honor to work with him. One of India’s greatest films,” he shared.

“I’ve never seen anything like it in the world”

Rahman also spoke about his experience watching the trailer of Ramayana in 3D and expressed his admiration for the film’s scale and technological brilliance.“It’s one of the biggest films of my career. Not just the story, we all know the story, and how we respect it, but the technology. Watching the trailer in 3D is awesome too. I have never seen anything Indian or worldwide as a work of art. It’s just incredible in 3D, the music and the sound,” he said. Produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash under Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, it stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi Sita and Yash Ravana. The cast also includes Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta and Ravi Dubey.Ramayana will be released in two parts, the first part will hit the theaters in Diwali 2026, and the 2nd part in Diwali 2027.
