Suriya Reveals Financial Struggles Behind ‘Karuppu’ Crossing Rs 200 Crore |

Tamil superstar SuriyaThe movie ‘Karuppu’ is enjoying success at the box office. Following the response from the massive audience, Suriya recently attended a special meet and greet event with press and fans in Chennai. The actor spoke about his journey behind Karuppu and the difficulties he faced during the production.

Suriya opens up about his financial woes

During the interaction, Suriya revealed that the production team faced financial problems while making the film. He shared that some important decisions were made even in difficult times. Suriya said about the climax song, “We shot that climax song five months after the edit was locked. Even after the shoot was over, one of the assistants suggested adding a song dedicated to Karuppasamy despite financial hurdles.The actor explained that the song was recorded when the production company was under financial pressure. Despite these challenges, the team decided to go ahead because they believed it would add more value to the film.

About ‘Karuppu’

In the film, Suriya plays the role of Karuppuswamy, while he is the director RJ Balaji Advocate Baby Kannan also appears as an antagonist. The ending of ‘Karuppu’ indicates that Karuppuswamy’s struggle is not yet over. After dealing with the problems of the judicial system, the story suggests that a new battle may take place in the political world. The film also teases a possible face-off titled Karuppu vs Vellai, hinting at a sequel.

Actor of ‘Karuppu’

Apart from Suriya and RJ Balaji, the film features Trisha KrishnanShivada, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi and Swasika in important roles. Sai Abhyankkar’s music and background score have also been praised by the audience.According to trade analyst Sacnilk, ‘Karuppu’ has collected Rs 133.85 crore across 50,904 shows in nine days in India. Also, the worldwide collections are 217.74 million.
