I approached the Hon’ble Court out of deep concern for the safety, security and welfare of my brother Vikrant Kumar Jaitly,” he wrote.He added that since his parents were no longer there, he felt responsible for his brother.“She is in a foreign nation and as her sister, especially in the absence of our parents, I felt it my duty to ensure that she was not left without protection or support.”

In her statement, the actress revealed that she switched to court despite going through difficult personal situations.“I am navigating very difficult personal circumstances myself, including ongoing marriage proceedings, but my concern for my brother’s welfare compelled me to seek judicial intervention,” Celina said.He also thanked the Indian government after it was reported that officials had contacted Vikrant.“Today, I am grateful to the Honorable Court that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has disclosed that they have had multiple legal accesses to him and are moving forward to ensure adequate legal representation and his welfare.”“This gives me peace and relief that the Government of India stands by one of the soldiers,” he added.

According to the Bar and Bench, the case was heard on March 16 by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, who informed that Vikrant Jaitly had already been granted consular access but was denied legal aid.Authorities told the judge that a law firm offered to represent him for free, but he declined the offer.The court recorded that Vikrant had “unequivocally expressed his unwillingness to be represented by any law firm”, including a pro bono offer from a UAE firm.Celina also requested permission to communicate directly with her brother, but this request was also denied.While quashing the petition, the judge directed the authorities to keep in touch with Vikrant and provide assistance if needed.“Given the facts and developments, there is no reason to keep this request pending,” the court said.

Major (Retd.) Vikrant Jaitly, a former Indian Army officer and Celina’s brother, has been detained in the United Arab Emirates since September 6, 2024.Reports suggest the matter is linked to alleged national security concerns, although specific allegations have not been made public.Before his arrest, Vikrant had been living in the UAE since 2016 and was said to be working with the MATITI Group, a consulting and trading company. Celina has previously expressed her lack of clear legal representation, limited updates on the case and no direct communication with her brother.Concluding his statement, the actor wrote: “My only concern has always been his safety, dignity and fair treatment.
