The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for students to get scanned photocopies of their Class 12 board exam answer books after its website faced heavy traffic and technical glitches in the past few days.In a circular issued by the board, CBSE said the website has been witnessing “unprecedented traffic” with several unauthorized intrusion attempts, leading to disruption of services. To ensure that students are not affected, the board decided to extend the application deadline.The earlier last date for applying for scanned copies of answer books was 23rd May 2026 which has now been extended to 24th May 2026.
Website traffic, technical issues increase immediately
The CBSE said the sudden surge in online activity after the announcement of the board results put pressure on its digital systems. The board also cited unauthorized intrusion attempts that affected the smooth functioning of the website.The move comes as thousands of students across the country are applying for verification, revaluation and photocopy of answer scripts after the declaration of CBSE Class 12 results.Officials said the extension has been given so that no student misses out due to technical glitches or delay in accessing the portal.

Students can follow the steps mentioned here to get the scanned copies of CBSE Class 12th Exam 2026:
- Visit the official website of CBSE and open the link “Obtaining Scanned Copy of Evaluated Answer Book”.
- Login using Roll Number, School Number, Admit Card ID and Security PIN.
- Select Class 12 subjects that require scanned answer books.
- Pay the prescribed application fee through online payment methods.
- Submit the application form and save the confirmation page for reference.
- Download the scanned copy after uploading it on the CBSE portal.
- After checking the answer book apply for verification of marks or revaluation.
Students will get extra time for re-evaluation process.
The board also clarified that students will be given up to two days after receiving the scanned copy of their answer book to apply for the next step, including verification or re-evaluation of marks.CBSE advised the candidates to use the extended timeline and complete the process within the revised schedule. “All the terms and conditions mentioned earlier will remain the same,” the circular said.
