‘Chand Mera Dil’, the Lakshya and Ananya Panday The starrer is all set for a theatrical release today, May 22. General Board of Film Certification (CBFC), got a last-minute run update before its theatrical release.As per the early box office reports on Sacnilk, the film is running in 402 shows and has collected around 2 lakhs in Day 1 bookings. The film has reportedly sold more than 32,000 tickets at national cinema chains, indicating slow but steady growth momentum.According to the report, the duration of the film has been extended before its release. Reports suggest that the CBFC had initially certified the film with a running time of 135.36 minutes on 8 May. However, after the CBFC censored portions of the film, the makers reportedly went back to the drawing board and added additional footage to the final cut. The revised version, according to sacnilk, now features eight new scenes, including an extended sequence from the first half that runs nearly four minutes. Currently, the final duration of the film is 145.53 minutes (2 hours and 25 minutes).The Vivek Soni-directed romantic drama, which is said to have a dark twist, has opted for a new pricing strategy to increase its opening night. According to reports, tickets for all the shows have been priced at Rs 149 before 5 PM on May 22.Although the film is about to release, some theaters in Mumbai and other regions reportedly experienced minor delays in opening advance bookings.The film marks the first collaboration between Panday and Lakshya. The actor was last seen in ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ which released in 2025 and also starred Kartik Aaryan. The next one will be in the second season of the show ‘Call Me Bae’.Lakshya, on the other hand, was last seen in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’.
