According to Variety India, producer Namit Malhotra is in discussions with various major distribution players to distribute the two-part cinematic saga internally. What has particularly caught the attention of the trade is the staggering Rs 450 crore price tag for the Hindi theatrical distribution rights alone. Trade analysts believe that even an agreement between 300-400 million euros can set a new benchmark.In comparison, reports indicate that the current benchmark for the Hindi film’s distribution deal is tied to “King”, which stars. Shah Rukh Khanit is said to have been acquired for approximately 250 million.

Apart from the theatrical rights, the report also says that the group is eyeing a huge payout for its digital and satellite rights. According to industry chatter, producer Malhotra reportedly turned down a Rs 700 crore offer from Netflix for the combined streaming rights of the two parts. However, according to the report, the makers are hoping to get a deal of 1 billion euros for the digital rights of the film alone.Made on a budget of around 4,000 crores, trade pundits are already projecting the film’s historic theatrical run, with some estimates suggesting that the domestic collections could be in the range of 1,500 crores to 1,500 crores, and the worldwide gross could reach 2,500 crores making it the highest grossing Indian film.
‘Ramayana’ Cast and Release Date
The project has a star-studded cast, incl Ranbir Kapoor As Lord Ram, Yash like Ravana, Sai Pallavi Goddess Sita and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.‘Ramayana: Part I’ will release on Diwali 2026, while ‘Part II’ will hit the big screens next Diwali.
