Sadia Khateeb on Akshay Kumar’s humility and work ethic
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sadia said, “I learned that you can be the biggest star in the country and still be incredibly humble and grounded.” He also recalled Akshay Kumar’s advice and told me, “He told me, ‘Keep doing the work. Start small if you have to, but keep working and eventually you’ll get to bigger places.’ Despite being a huge star, he acts like a newcomer on set. He waits for his director, gives endlessly patient takes, and stays there even in simple reaction shots instead of disappearing in his vanity van… I realized that you can never lose the passion you had in the beginning.“
Sadia Khateeb calls shooting for ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’ one of her best experiences
Talking about ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, he said, “Honestly shooting this film was one of the best experiences of being on a film set for me because of the environment, the actors, my director and everyone around me. We all had lunch together, lunch and dinner together. The weather was beautiful, we were shooting all night, we were working hard at the same time, but because people were just happy. It really felt like we all went on vacation together.”
Why Sadia Khateeb needed a break from intense roles
Sadia explained that she signed Daadi Ki Shaadi because she wanted to take a break from heavy and intense roles after The Diplomat. He felt he needed something fun and easy to work on. “I had already shot for The Diplomat, and I realized that I wanted something light. I wanted to explore something that wasn’t intense, something that wasn’t emotionally sitting on my shoulder all the time. When I was shooting The Diplomat, I realized that subconsciously those emotions stay with you. After the movie, I went home, and my parents noticed that I was very quiet. I was very sleepy. I didn’t go out much. The last calendar I shot had torture scenes. You replay that trauma in your mind as you do it for days. You live as that character for those 20-30 days. Subconsciously, it stays with you even after the film is over,” he said.“While I was shooting this film (Daadi Ki Shaadi), I was constantly smiling, laughing, laughing and having fun. I realized as an actor, and as a human being, I really needed something like this for my peace of mind,” concluded the actor.
