Ignoring the original ‘Battle of Galwan’, the actor has titled it ‘Maatrubhumi’ (Motherland): May War Rest In Peace’, an exciting nod to patriotism and peace that is already creating a buzz on social media.
Apoorva Lakhia about the title change
In an interview with Hindustan Times, director Apoorva Lakhia explained that the sudden title change was not random. He said, “The title change may come as a shock to Mr. SK’s fans, but it was never an overnight decision. From the beginning, we registered two titles: Galwaneko Battle and Maatrubhumi. During our filmmaking journey, we realized that it was never just a battle. At its heart, the film is about humanity, empathy and the struggle of our silent soldier.“ Apoorva further revealed that “Maatrubhumi: Let War Rest in Peace” captures that emotion and sacrifice much more truthfully. It reflects the soul of the story, preserving humanity even in the face of conflict. There is also a song of the same name in the film, and thanks to the love it has received from the public, the title seemed even more appropriate.
