After opting to bowl first, Pakistan got off to a good start, reducing Bangladesh to 116/6, before Latin Das salvaged the innings with a brilliant counter-century to take the hosts to 278. Khurram Shahzad took four wickets.In reply, Pakistan’s batting came under pressure once again despite Babar Azam’s 68.Bangladesh then strengthened their grip with a brilliant second innings led by veteran Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored a brilliant 137, while Laton Das added another valuable 69. The host team eventually set Pakistan a huge target of 437 runs on a tough pitch on the 5th day.Pakistan resisted through a brilliant partnership of 134 runs between captain Shan Masood, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha. Rizwan fell for 94 runs and fell short of a century while Salman scored 71 runs.However, Bangladesh spinner Tejul Islam proved decisive, taking 6/120 in the second innings and nine wickets in the match as Pakistan were bowled out for 358 runs.
