After several leaks from the sets of ‘King’, the makers of the Shah Rukh Khan-led film are scrambling to tighten security. The Siddharth Anand The director returned to the headlines this week after a 15-minute AI-generated clip of leaked images, videos and paparazzi footage went viral online.
AI clip of ‘King’ goes viral
This clip followed a series of leaks of on-location shots from the film, including first looks of the characters and footage from some of the song shoots. Deepika Padukone and others the protagonists of the action scenes Abhishek Bachchanwere published online. According to reports, a fan-made clip combined leaked visuals and paparazzi footage to give fans a “mini version” of the film. Since it was shared online, reports say that the production team, with the help of fans, massively reported the video and removed it from various social media platforms.
Security stepped up after ‘King’ set leaks
A report in Mid-Day quoted a source close to the production as saying that the team was allegedly upset after sequences of the climax shoot and the Cape Town schedule were leaked online. Acknowledging that it is impossible to have clips and photos when SRK is filming on public stages because “the AI editing crossed a line because it tried to recreate the narrative of the film.”The insider further revealed that security has now been significantly tightened around the current shooting schedule around Ghodbunder Road on the outskirts of Mumbai. “This set in Mumbai is a busy area, so removing phone access won’t help much. But movement during action parts and crucial scenes has been severely restricted,” says the report.
Director Siddharth Anand’s request to fans
The leaked set visuals also asked director Siddharth to request fans not to order unauthorized material from the sets. “Please do not post or distribute leaked media from the sets of ‘King.’The team is working round the clock to ensure the best cinematic experience for everyone. Let’s wait for the unexpected on the big screen.”
‘The King’ to wrap up filming for July
With much of the film complete, the team is reportedly in its “final stages,” with just two months left to wrap up production. “A lot of patchwork, action insertions and another schedule is left to do, concurrently with the VFX work. The film is slated to be completed by the end of July,” says the report.
‘King’ release date
Currently, the film is scheduled to release during the Christmas holiday – December 24, 2026. The film is one of the most anticipated films of the year. However, it will debut within a tight release window, coming a week after the release of the Marvel superhero film and the final chapter in the “Dune” saga. The film will also face competition from ‘Jumanji 3’ at the international box office.
