Indian fans were counting down the days to the OTT release of director Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, the official manager of Netflix India on Thursday shared the poster of ‘Dhurandhar Raw and Undekha’ and announced the May 22 OTT release.

Fans react to the post
It didn’t take much time for the post to create a frenzy among the audience as many assumed that the makers had pushed forward the Indian release date of the Indian sequel to “Dhurandhar The Revenge: Raw and Undekha”, announcing its India release on JioHotstar on June 4, followed by its release on Netflix India on June 19. Amidst buzz that the sequel’s release was pushed forward by almost a month, netizens took to the comments section to clarify, “People in India are not getting too excited, it’s an uncensored version of part 1.“Following the confusion over the post and subsequent clarification, fans took to the comments saying, “Finally the uncensored and uncut version, hopefully.” Another said, “Finally we can hear Akshy Khanna’s gali.”
CBFC “Dhurandhar” condemned for censoring
This update came as the CBFC and the filmmakers were facing flak for censoring the film in India, but they allowed the ‘uncut’ and ‘censored’ version to be made in foreign countries. One tweeted, “A movie made for Indians, but only Indians get the censored version, while the rest of the world watches Raw & Undekha. They are really protecting us from our cinema.”‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh, released on 30th January 2026 on Netflix after earning a record ₹1.3 billion at the box office.
