New Delhi: Indian national cricket team have come sixth in the latest World Test Championship standings. Bangladesh national cricket team Completed a 2-0 clean sweep in the Test series against Pakistan at home ground.Bangladesh went ahead of India by winning both the Tests. They defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first in Mirpur and followed that up with another emphatic win in the second Test. As a result, Bangladesh ranked fifth in the WTC table with 58.33 percent points.India, meanwhile, slipped to sixth place despite having more total points as the ranking is based on percentage points rather than overall points.Under the leadership of Shubman Gill, India has had a mixed start to the current WTC cycle. The team has played nine Tests so far, winning four, losing four and drawing one.India’s poor results included a 0–2 home series defeat against the South African national cricket team and two defeats during the tour of England, where the five-match series ended 2–2.Interestingly, India has yet to play a Test match this year. They face Afghanistan in a one-off Test in June, but that match will not count in the WTC standings.Later in the year, India will tour Sri Lanka and New Zealand for a crucial two-Test series that could greatly affect their chances of reaching a second WTC final.At the top of the table Australia national cricket team Having won seven out of eight Tests, they are firmly in the first position with 87.50% points.New Zealand is second in the ranking, behind South Africa and Sri Lanka. Pakistan remain down in eighth position after only one win out of four Tests in the current WTC cycle.
