New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday admitted that there are technical issues affecting its online application portal for obtaining scanned copies of Class 12 answer books.In an official circular issued on May 20, 2026, the board informed stakeholders that the online application system for submitting applications for access to evaluated answer sheets is “currently experiencing technical glitches.”CBSE said a team of experts is working to resolve the issue and the application facility is expected to be live again by 2 pm on Wednesday.“All stakeholders are hereby informed that the online application for submission of applications for obtaining scanned copies of Class XII answer books is currently experiencing technical glitches,” the circular said.“A team of experts is working on the issue, and the application is expected to go live by 02.00 pm today. We request your patience and cooperation in this regard,” the board added.The board added that students seeking scanned copies of answer books should be given priority for redressal purposes after the resumption of portal.“To ensure that priority is given to students seeking scanned copies of their answer books for redressal of grievances, they are requested to avail this facility first after resumption of application,” the circular noted.CBSE also clarified that students who wish to obtain scanned copies for archival purposes only will be allowed to do so after the completion of the current re-examination process.“Students who wish to obtain scanned copies for archival purposes will be provided an opportunity immediately after the current process of re-examination is completed,” the board said.The board appealed for cooperation from students and stakeholders and assured that all students will have access to this facility in due course.This circular was issued by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr. Sunim Bhardwaj.The process of accessing the answer sheet is part of CBSE’s post-result grievance redressal mechanism for Class XII students. After getting the scanned copies of the examined answer books, students can choose to apply for verification of marks or revaluation within the notified schedule.
