Actor Randeep Hooda is discovering a new side of himself, and he couldn’t be happier. Two months after welcoming daughter Nyomica with wife and athlete-actress Lin Laishram in March, Hooda says fatherhood has brought him a kind of quiet joy he hasn’t experienced since his teenage years, changing the way he feels about coming home at the end of each shift.

In a candid interview with Mid-Day, Randeep Hooda described the unexpected emotional shift that has come with becoming a father for the first time. She said: “As a person, I feel a little weaker in the knees. I want to come home more than ever since I got married because it’s another reason. I often find myself sitting in a corner and smiling to myself thinking about my daughter.”Just two months into fatherhood, Hooda says he’s still very much a student of the role, and his parents have already thought about what it means. He said: “I’m still a new dad. It’s been two months, but there’s more to discover every day. My parents say it’s the best achievement of my life.”

Hooda says his compass has always been set the same way.In the same interview, she said, “I’ve never made a choice that later embarrasses me in front of my kids or anyone else’s kids.
