Former Bond Girl, Lea Seydoux shared his support to the filmmaker Denis Villeneuve taking the reins to direct the next ‘James Bond’ franchise.Seydoux, who played Madeleine Swann opposite Daniel Craig’s James Bond, reflected on her connection to the long-running spy franchise and her reaction to Amazon being bought by MGM. While he admitted that he initially felt unsure about the franchise changing hands, Variety said, “I was kind of sad when I heard it was sold. But now that it’s Denis, I was like, ‘Oh, at least it’s him, so it’s going to be a movie.’Seydoux appeared in several Bond films during Craig’s long run as a British spy. In addition to playing his love interest, he also went on to play his partner, for whom he sacrificed his life to save, thus closing the franchise’s chapter.Praising Villeneuve further, Seydoux described the director as having a deep and passionate knowledge of filmmaking. “He’s super cultured, he knows so much about film, but not just film,” he said.Villeneuve, known for directing films such as ‘Dune’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’, will direct the next chapter of the James Bond franchise as the iconic spy series enters a new era. According to the latest reports, including the actors Timothée ChalametCallum Turner, Jacob Elordi and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are all said to have appeared as starters. Other rumored possible actors include Theo James, Tom Francis, Regé-Jean Page, Josh O’Connor and Henry Cavill, although no official casting has been made yet. Reports suggest that the studio is looking for a younger actor, who will probably play the leading man in the franchise, for around 4 more films. Nina Gold officially began casting for the film last month.
