Ram Charan transformed himself into a muscular beast in the sports action drama ‘Peddi’ played as a wrestler as seen in the trailer recently. At the trailer launch event, Ram Charan spoke candidly about the hard work, pain and emotions behind the role. He also thanked Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for encouraging actors to do such physically demanding films.At the event, Ram Charan said that films like ‘Sultan’ and ‘Dangal’ gave confidence to many actors. He thanked Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for leading the way with powerful sports dramas.Ram Charan said, “Thank you, first of all, Salman sir and Aamir sir, for paving the way for films like Sultan and Dangal. He gave us a lot of confidence.”
Physical transformation was important to the character
He added that the team believed that these stories really connect with the audience and that the physical transformation was very important to the character.The actor shared that the role was not only physically tough but also emotional and spiritual for him. Ram Charan said that the journey changed him in many ways while working on the film.“I mean, like Mr. Rahman said, there was a lot of spiritual journey because it was physically very difficult,” he said.He explained that the transformation was necessary because it was closely related to the story told by director Buchi Babu Sana.
Ram Charan reveals his injuries during the shooting
Ram Charan also spoke candidly about the pain he went through during the shooting process. The actor revealed that he suffered numerous injuries while preparing for the role and shooting the action scenes.“It’s physically difficult. I don’t know how Aamir sir and Salman sir have done it. I’ve had a lot of injuries,” he shared.
‘Peddi’ became a special journey for Ram Charan
Even with the pain, the actor remained motivated every day because of his love for the film.Ram Charan said that ‘Peddi’ was one of the few films where he was excited to go to work every day. He shared that he would wake up in the morning, work and happily go to the decorations.“I don’t want to leave my sets. This is one of the first films where I don’t want to leave the sets,” said Ram Charan.The actor added that such feelings come only when one knows that someone is really doing something special.
