Brad Pitt let his neighbor live in his house without paying rent
According to an old PEOPLE report, the actor bought the property in 1994 from Cassandra Peterson for US$1.7 million. He wanted to increase his estate, including the house where the neighbor lived.In an interview, Peterson revealed that the property was surrounded by 22 houses, including the man’s house, where he had lived his entire life. After buying the field, when Pitt found out that John was still living there after his wife’s death, he told him to leave him alone and live there rent-free.Peterson stated “He (Pitt) was very, very nice to the husband. His wife passed away, and the husband, John, was living there. I know Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.” He also joked that the deal took so long because John lived such a long life. She also said, “Brad was thinking, ‘Well, you know, he can live there until he dies, and that could be any minute now.’ Brad Pitt sold the property for $40 million USD a few years ago.The Los Feliz mansion that Peterson sold was where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt lived and raised their 6 children until they divorced.

Peterson also explained why he ended up selling the house in the first place. He declared that he felt that the palace was ruined; however, this was also the reason Pitt bought the property. As he pointed out, “we warned him that a lot of strange things were happening in the house since we moved in. And he was very excited about it. He thought it was very cool.”
