National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) have released the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 Admit Card on the official website, which is nestexam.in.Candidates who have registered for the entrance exam can now download their hall tickets by logging in with their application number or user id and password.The NEST 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on June 6, 2026, for admission to five-year integrated Master of Science (MSc) programs in Basic Sciences offered by participating institutions.Candidates appearing for the examination should carry a valid photo ID proof along with a printed copy of the NEST 2026 Admit Card to the examination centre. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card, Passport, Driving License, or College ID Card.The examination authorities have said that the candidates cannot be allowed to enter the examination hall without the required documents.

How to Download NEST 2026 Admit Card

Candidates can follow these steps to download hall ticket:

  1. Visit the official website, which is nestexam.in.
  2. Click on the “Download Admit Card” link available on the home page.
  3. Enter Application Number or User ID and Password.
  4. Submit login details.
  5. Download the admit card and take a printout for future use.

NEST 2026 Exam Pattern and marking scheme

The NEST 2026 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and will be of three hours duration. The question paper will consist of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.Each section will have 20 multiple choice questions carrying a total of 60 marks. Candidates must attempt at least three sections.As per the marking scheme, candidates will get three marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the best three section scores out of the four sections.
