According to an official notification issued by the state finance department, the West Bengal government has significantly revised the upper age limits for recruitment to state government posts in Group A, B, C, and D categories.The development was first reported by ANI, citing a government notification detailing the revised eligibility framework for public sector recruitment in the state.Revised age limit under new rulesAs per the notification issued by the Finance Department, Audit Branch, Nabanna (Howrah), the upper age limit has been increased under the amended rules:• Group A Posts: Raised to 41 years (Existing upper limits, where applicable, will remain unchanged)• Group B Posts: Increased to 44 years.• Group C and Group D Posts: Increased to 45 years.These changes have been incorporated by amending the West Bengal Services (Increase in Age Limit) Rules, 1981 under the powers conferred by Article 309 of the Constitution of India.
