‘KGFthe star Yash He’s playing a much bigger role than the lead in the upcoming action thriller ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. The actor is also involved as a writer and producer and the pan-Indian film has created a lot of anticipation. After the success of KGF, Yash is overseeing various aspects of filmmaking while gearing up to deliver the central performance.
First writing, then production
In an interview with Variety, Yash explained that he approaches each responsibility with a different mindset. He said that creativity in writing should be unlimited.He shared, “When you’re writing, you don’t have to think like a producer when you’re writing on paper. But once you write, the next point is to think like a producer: what are the logistics, how much does this need, how much does it make sense for the business. In the end, because many people depend on cinema, because many people work, because their livelihood depends on that profession.’Yash said that after finishing the script, he starts focusing on logistics, budgeting and business decisions. He pointed out that the way of life of the film industry involves many workers who depend on the industry.
Acting brings the ultimate responsibility
The actor said his priorities change again when he steps in front of the camera. At this stage, he focuses solely on conveying the vision of the writer and director through his performance.“And then, when I come to the screen, I only think about what the writer or the director is trying to say through that scene. As an actor, I take all the responsibility because everyone gives their best work, but if the actor doesn’t anchor it properly, everything goes in vain,” he added.Yash emphasized that the actor serves as the final link to bring the entire team’s efforts back to the audience.
Yash explains the delay in the release of the film
Earlier this year, Yash confirmed that Toxic would miss its planned June 4 release date. He said the film itself is complete, but discussions are underway to secure global distribution and strategic partnerships.Talking about the delay, Yash said, “Right now I have decided to take my time and release this film. That’s really one thing that my fans or people in India will not like. They will be upset, culturally when you start shooting the film, there is a timeline in their mind. And unfortunately, marketing happens even if you don’t want it to. The moment we start shooting people start writing about it.““In the West, it all starts when you finish the movie. If someone wants to buy the movie or someone wants to be a part of the movie, they want to see the movie because there’s a lot of money involved. Those are the challenges, but I think I believe in my people, so they understand that what we’re trying to do is something that we should all do.”
‘Toxic’ set to spread worldwide
Yash also addressed the delay in a statement shared on Instagram: “There are films we make, and there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxic has been such a journey.
