She shared the happy news on Instagram on Saturday, May 16, revealing the new baby girl’s special name along with a series of photos. “Our baby Rocca de Leon Duhamel is here,” she wrote in the caption.The carousel included Polaroids of the newborn sleeping, Duhamel holding a celebratory bottle of champagne next to his bowl, and the couple posing together. In other shots, two-year-old son Shepherd was meeting his new baby sister for the first time, and the baby was being cuddled against Mari’s chest at the hospital.

Before welcoming Rocca, Duhamel spoke candidly about his excitement while appearing in the comedy ‘Preschool’, telling new dad Derek Hough that he “can’t wait to meet her.” “I don’t know what to do. I’m so excited, I can’t wait to meet him,” she said. “And I think there’s something about dads and their little girls. It’s different, you know?”Mari first revealed her pregnancy in a carousel of black and white Instagram photos, showing off her baby bump. In one picture, she sat cross-legged on a bed wearing a half-buttoned top with her stomach exposed. In another, she giggled as she looked to cradle her belly. “Adding a little girl to our story. Duhamel and Mari Shepherd are already parents to a 2-year-old son. The actor is also father to 12-year-old son Axl, who he shares with ex-wife Fergie. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE in August, Duhamel reflected on being a father of two sons and what he loves most about parenthood. “I love being a dad. I love every milestone,” he said.She also talked about the different personalities of her two boys. “My wife’s dad is a big car guy and he’s a car collector, and I think Shepherd is a lot like his grandfather,” he told the outlet. “He loves cars, and he just wants to get up in the seat and pretend he’s driving.” Axl, on the other hand, has completely different interests. “It’s more about stats in football and basketball. But that’s the beauty of genetics.
