
TCS, or Tata Consultancy Services, is one of India’s largest IT services companies and part of the Tata Group. Their total compensation, including salary, benefits and commissions, rose 6.3 percent year-on-year, the annual report showed.
Behind the salary figures is a long career built entirely within the company over three decades.
Krithivasan studied mechanical engineering at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology from 1981 to 1985. Later he completed M.Tech in Industrial and Management Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 1987.
He joined TCS in 1989 and spent more than 30 years with the organization. Over time, he worked in a variety of roles before moving into senior leadership positions.
Between 2007 and 2023, he served in various roles including as President of TCS’ Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) division, a key business vertical for the company. He held this position for more than 16 years.
In June 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TCS, taking charge of the company’s global operations from Mumbai after a long in-house career.
TCS also said in its report that executive remuneration is decided by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee based on performance, company results and market benchmarks.
