The actor said he spent almost all of his 20s moving from project to project, leaving little room for rest or personal time.

Sonakshi Sinha felt like she was burning

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sonakshi spoke candidly about how the constant workload started taking a toll on her well-being. “I started working very young. I was 22 when I started and 23 when my first film was released. All my 20s started working. I felt like I was smoking, doing more than I should. I walked constantly. I wouldn’t take a break for myself or alternate between two films. I would go from one set to another. At one point I did double shifts,” he said.

A decade full of films for Sonakshi Sinha

Between her debut and the COVID-19 pandemic, Sonakshi appeared in 23 films in ten years. At the same time, he also participated in several special appearances and sequences of popular songs. This steady stream of work made him one of the most recognizable faces in Bollywood. However, he eventually realized that professional success alone was not enough to sustain a fulfilling life.

Choosing himself at 30

Sonakshi said that a turning point came when she turned 30. Around 2017 and 2018, he decided to slow down and create time for himself. “There came a point when I said, ‘I need to make time for myself. This will help me improve as an actor and as a person.’ That’s when I started making some changes in my life. My whole direction changed in the way I approach work, or the kind of work I do,” recalls Sonakshi.Reflecting on what she learned, Sonakshi said the realization came gradually. “You learn. It doesn’t come to you automatically. At the time, I felt like this was the way to go. Also, I lived a very sheltered life. For me, that was watching my work. I enjoyed it while I was doing it. But you get to a point where you realize there’s more to life than work.”On the professional front, Sonakshi will be seen in ‘System’, a courtroom drama directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
