NEW DELHI: A day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results of the Class XII board exams with the overall pass percentage falling to 85.20 per cent from last year’s 88.39 per cent, several schools across the country reported strong individual performances, with humanities and commerce students dominating the top ranks. While the national pass percentage recorded a decline of 3.19 percentage points, many schools continued to score above 95 per cent in the streams.Girls have once again outperformed boys in the CBSE Class XII results this year, with a pass percentage of 88.86% for girls compared to 82.13% for boys. Even as schools and education experts overall linked the DIP to tougher physics and maths papers and on-screen marking (OSM), high-performing students from institutions including Soumya School, Euro School, Billabong High International School and Phoenix Greens School of Learning recorded excellence in humanities and commerce sciences.Humanities and commerce students dominate the top scores.Among the schools declaring their toppers, humanities students secured the highest percentage this year. Kritika Meena from Soumya School topped her school with 97.20%, while Nithila S. from Euro School Whitefield also secured 97.20% in Humanities.At Billabong High International School, Malad, Vihan Singhal emerged as the school topper with 98.4% in commerce, one of the highest reported scores among schools that released statements after the declaration of results.Phoenix Greens School of Learning in Hyderabad reported that 16% of its students scored above 90%, with Boryagri Sai Siddharth Reddy topping the school with 96.8% in Science.CBSE Class XII toppers from schools across India

Schools highlight consistency across streams.Soumya School reported strong performance in all three streams, with Kritka Meena emerging as the overall topper with 97.20%. Vedant Thampi topped the commerce stream with 96.40 per cent, while Vishnu Vivek topped the science stream with 92.40 per cent.Ms. Jyoti Malhotra, Principal, Soumya School, said, “We are very proud of our Class XII students for performing so well in our board exams. Their performance is proof that academic excellence comes from holistic development.”The Euro School campus in Bengaluru also reported high scores in all categories. Onita Shyam scored 97.0% to emerge as the science topper and overall topper at Euro School North Campus, while MU Bhanodhiraj topped commerce with 96.2%.At Euroschool Whitefield, humanities student Nitila S. secured 97.20%, the highest score in the Euroschool network this year.“The academic support and guidance I received at Euro School helped me stay focused and confident,” Nithila S. said in a statement released by the school.Billabong High and Phoenix Greens record strong results.Billabong High International School, Malad, said its class 12th performed strongly in Commerce, Humanities and Science streams. With 98.4% from topper Vihan Singhal, Commerce student Kshtij Garg secured 96.4%, while Avani Pejdar topped Humanities with 96%.Principal Ms. Kavita Sadanand Panicker said the results reflected “resilience, dedication and academic excellence”.Phoenix Greens School of Learning in Hyderabad also announced strong subject-wise performances, including a perfect 100 in Informatics Practice and scores of 99 in English Core and Chemistry.Ms. Anju Sharma, Principal, Phoenix Greens School of Learning said, “We are extremely proud of our students for their exceptional performance in the CBSE Class 12 examinations.”Schools report strong performance across subjects.A number of schools also highlighted high subject scores across all subjects. Phoenix Greens reported scores of 98 in biology and psychology and 97 in physics, accountancy and entrepreneurship.The educational institutions, while releasing their results statements, also highlighted inclusive development, conceptual learning and competency-based preparation as key factors behind this year’s performance.The CBSE Class XII Result 2026 was declared on 13 May 2026, with over 1.5 lakh students clearing the exam across the country despite a dip in the overall pass percentage.
