The investigation into the death of Matthew Perry has reached another important milestone. Erik Fleming, a licensed addiction counselor, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in supplying the ketamine that led to the actress’ death.

According to Wio News, Erik Fleming served as an intermediary who delivered ketamine to Perry in the last days of the actor’s life. In 2024, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution resulting in death.At his sentencing hearing in Los Angeles, Erik Fleming expressed remorse before Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett. “It’s really a nightmare I can’t wake up from.”Also, that his deep remorse cannot be compared to the pain I have caused Perry’s family and friends.Court filings indicated Fleming helped Perry distribute 52 vials of ketamine in October 2023, including the fatal dose.
The Federal investigation found a wider net
Authorities determined that Mathew Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine, followed by drowning. Investigators later discovered a network of doctors, dealers and associates who exploited his addiction for income.Five people involved in the case have been found guilty. Jasveen Sangha, described as the main supplier, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in April 2026. Kenneth Iwamasa admitted to administering more than 20 injections of ketamine in the last four days of Perry’s life. Dr. Mark Chavez was sentenced to eight months of house arrest and three years of probation.Dr. Salvador Plasencia was sentenced to 30 months in prison in December 2025.
