South Africa’s fast spearhead Kagiso Rabada. He has become the latest global star to be dazzled by Vibhu Suryavanshi’s fearless batting, with the Gujarat Titans quick to acknowledge. Rabada, who has been one of the standout fast bowlers of IPL 2026 with 21 wickets, found himself briefly targeted by the 15-year-old sensation during Gujarat Titans’ clash against Rajasthan Royals earlier this season. Suryavanshi hit Rabada for back-to-back sixes in a fearless display that once again cemented his growing reputation as one of the most devastating young batsmen in world cricket.
The youngster has already grabbed the headlines this season for taking on elite bowlers without hesitation, including Jaspreet BumrahJosh Hazlewood, Mohammad Siraj and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Against Gujarat, Siraj was also launched for a first-ball six as Suryavanshi continued his astonishing rise. Speaking to PTI, Rabada admitted that he was impressed by the young man’s mentality and fearlessness at such a young age. “He’s a great talent. He’s got really quick hands. He’s fearless at the moment, he doesn’t have an ounce of fear in his body. Usually when you’re young, it’s really fascinating. I think it’s great to see in the game of cricket, in the IPL. It’s great to see that the game is right and who actually comes into his nature? Let’s wait and see,” the South African quick said. Despite the hype surrounding Suryavanshi, Rabada said his mindset as a bowler remains unchanged when charging to bowl. “What I’m thinking is just another batsman. And try to get better than that. It’s almost like a bit of temperament. He’s definitely an X-factor player. Someone who’s paying attention to the game. fantastic Really fast hands. No fear. It’s one hell of a collection,” he added. Rabada himself has been in top form this season, consistently hitting 150 kmph while forming the IPL’s most dangerous new-ball pairing with Mohammad Siraj. The pair have troubled the batting line-up throughout the Powerplay phase, with Rabada consistently producing quick bounce and seam movement through the length of the Test match. The 30-year-old has now crossed the 20-wicket mark in an IPL season for the fourth time in his career, although he insisted he does not focus too much on personal milestones. “I just feel like coming into a season, whichever team you’re playing for, this time it’s Gujarat, I just feel like I’m going to do my best here and that’s what I’m going to leave it at. And whatever the result is, the result will be the same,” he said. Reflecting on his partnership with Siraj, Rabada said their chemistry has developed naturally over the course of the season. “I guess it’s building a partnership and that’s a lot. He’s got a job to do and I’ve got a job to do. I guess we’ve bonded a little bit off the field as well but it’s nothing really. “We find that we are bowling together and we try to play the role to the best of our ability. There is no real magic recipe,” he explained.
