RRB ALP CEN 01/2026 Recruitment: Indian Railways has issued a notification for recruitment to the post of Assistant Loco Pilot under Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) No. 01/2026. The recruitment process will be done in different ways. Railway Recruitment Boards For a total of 11,127 posts across the country.The online application process for RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 will start from May 15, 2026, and candidates can submit applications till June 14, 2026. Eligible candidates seeking placement in various railway zones will need to apply through the official application portal, rrbapply.gov.in.Recruitment details and eligibilityThe recruitment drive is being conducted for Assistant Loco Pilot posts under Pay Level-II with starting pay of Rs.19,900/-. Candidates applying for the posts must have ITI Certificate or Engineering Diploma in relevant field.According to the notification, the minimum age is 18 years while the upper age limit is 30 years. Age will be calculated from 1st July 2026. Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per government rules after issue of detailed notification.

The recruitment will be conducted by various Railway Recruitment Boards, including Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Prayagraj, Ranchi and Secunderabad. Zone wise vacancy details will be announced in detailed notification.Selection Process and Examination StagesThe selection process for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot consists of CBT-1, CBT-2, Computer Based Aptitude Test, Document Verification and Medical Examination.CBT-1 will consist of 75 questions carrying 75 marks with a duration of 60 minutes. Questions will be asked from Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness. One third marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The minimum qualifying marks are fixed at 40 per cent for UR and EWS categories, 30 per cent for OBC and SC candidates, and 25 per cent for ST candidates.CBT-2 and Aptitude Test PatternsCBT-2 will consist of two parts with a combined duration of two hours and 30 minutes. Part-A will have 100 questions, while Part-B will have 75 technical questions related to trading. Candidates must secure at least 35% marks in Part B.Shortlisted candidates will appear for a computer-based aptitude test, where a minimum T-score of 42 is required in each test battery. Final merit will be prepared by giving 50% weightage to CBT-2 Part-A and CBAT score.
