Indian Army has started TES-56 recruitment for Lieutenant posts through 10+2 technical entry route.

Indian Army TES-56 Recruitment 2026: Indian Army has released notification for Technical Entry Scheme (TES)-56 course starting from January 2027. The recruitment drive offers admission to eligible candidates who have secured permanent commission in the Army through 10+2 technical entry route. Online applications are opened on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in.Candidates who have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and appeared for JEE Main 2026 are eligible to apply for TES-56 course. As per the notification, the application process started on May 13, 2026 and will continue till June 12, 2026. Selected candidates will have to undergo four years of training before being commissioned as lieutenants.Eligibility Criteria and VacanciesRecruitment drive is being conducted for 90 vacancies for the post of Lieutenant under TES-56 course. Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 and must appear for JEE Main 2026.Candidates age limit is between 16.5 years and 19.5 years. Applicants should not be born before 1st July 2007 nor after 1st July 2010, both dates. The cut-off date for age calculation is 1 January 2027.Selection process and training structureThe selection process will begin with the shortlisting of applications based on JEE Main Rank. The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by the Services Selection Board, which will be held over five days. Candidates who clear the interview stage will be medically examined before the final merit list is prepared.The training program will continue for four years. During the first three years, the selected candidates will undergo training in the Cadet Training Wings. The final year of training will be at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Candidates who successfully complete the program will receive an engineering degree and be promoted to the rank of lieutenant.Application Process and Scholarship DetailsThere is no application fee for candidates applying under TES-56 recruitment process. Interested candidates can submit their applications by completing the online officer entry application form through the official Join Indian Army website.During training, cadets will get a monthly stipend of Rs 56,100 on completion of three years. After commissioning, the officers will be placed as Lieutenants in the pay scale of Level 10.
