The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class XII board exam results for the academic session 2025-26. The results were declared on 13 May 2026, and made available through the CBSE official website, DigiLocker, UMANG and National Informatics Center portals.A total of 17,80,365 students registered for the CBSE Class XII exams this year, while 17,68,968 appeared for the exams. Of these, 15,07,109 students cleared the exam, with an overall pass percentage of 85.20 percent. Again, girls scored higher than boys.In Class XII results, girls outperformed boys.CBSE data shows that girls scored 88.86%, while boys scored 82.13%. The board also reported that 1,63,800 candidates have been placed in the compartment category this year, which is 9.26% of the total candidates. More than 94,000 students scored more than 90%According to the statistics released by the board, 94,028 students secured 90% and above marks in the examinations. Of these, 17,113 students scored 95% and above.
CBSE said no merit list has been prepared to avoid unhealthy competition among students. However, merit certificates will be issued to the top 0.1% students in each subject through DigiLocker.The pass ratio in Delhi region is more than 91%The combined Delhi region scored 91.97 percent in the Class XII exams. CBSE has introduced on-screen marking for the examination.CBSE has introduced On Screen Marking (OSM) for examination of Class XII answer books this year. The board said that the aim of digital assessment process is to reduce errors related to killing, posting and uploading of numbers.The board said the system ensures that each answer is evaluated as per the marking scheme while minimizing manual intervention during the evaluation process. CBSE also said that the digital process improved transparency and supported paperless assessment.Teachers involved in the assessment process welcomed the introduction of OSM. According to CBSE, teachers highlighted better accuracy, reduced academic workload and greater transparency in assessment through the digital system.Institutional PerformanceAmong various categories of institutions, Kendriya Vidyalayas scored the highest at 98.55 percent, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya with 98.47 percent.Institution wise pass percentage
Students can access their digital academic documents through DigiLocker, CBSE said. Schools are also provided access to the board’s educational repository Pranam Manjusha to download digital documents of students.The board further announced that the supplementary examinations for Class XII students will be held on July 15, 2026. Candidates placed in compartment category and candidates seeking improvement in one subject will be eligible to appear for the examination.
