Tannaz Irani talked about her love story with husband Bakhtiyaar Irani, age difference, being a mother at 40 and her journey to become a life coach.
“I thought Bakhtiyaar Irani was the worst human being”
Talking about how he first met Bakhtiyaar, Tannaz revealed that the two met on the sets of reality show Fame Gurukul in 2006.“We met on a reality show. At first nobody started anything romantic. In fact, he prank called me and made me cry. I thought he was the worst human being on the face of the earth,” she laughed in an interview with Haterrfly.Tannaz remembered how angry she was at him at first. “I told myself I would never talk to him. I thought he was a rude, mean and horrible person.’However, during the show, Bakhtiyaar repeatedly apologized to her.“He kept apologizing, but I still decided I wasn’t going to talk to him,” she shared.Things slowly changed when Tannaz started helping her in her singing performances while struggling with throat problems.“He was coughing a lot while singing, so I started giving him home remedies with ginger and honey. I thought I was giving him advice, but apparently he was falling in love with me,” she said.
“Bakhtiyaar Irani fought for me”
Tannaz also addressed the age gap between them and admitted that Bakhtiyaar had to fight hard for their relationship.“I was older than him and I was also divorced. Of course, many people would not want their son to marry an elderly and divorced person,” he explained.Praising her husband for standing by her, she added, âBakhtiyaar always fought for me and still fights for me. If someone says something bad about me, he’s always the first to stand up for me.”He also said, “For him, the whole world can be on one side, and his love for Tannaz will be on the other.”Before marrying Bakhtiyaar, Tannaz was married to theater artist and performer Farid Currim in her 20s. Farid is 18 years older than her. The marriage lasted eight years, and the former couple have a daughter together named Zianne.He married Tannaz Bakhtiyaar Irani in 2007. Bakhtiyaar is seven years younger than him. The couple are parents to son Zeus and daughter Zara.
Tannaz Irani for becoming a mother at 40
Talking about motherhood, Tannaz revealed that while her son Ziaan was born in her 30s, her daughter Zara was born in her 40s.Due to the risks associated with pregnancy after the age of 40, an amniocentesis was performed.Explaining the procedure, he said: “It’s a test where doctors collect fluid near the baby to check for conditions like Down’s syndrome or spinal problems.”Tannaz admitted that he was very nervous while waiting for the results and recalled how a visit to the church gave him emotional strength at the time.“Everyone at church prayed for my baby and told me everything was going to be okay,” she shared.He later received a negative result, confirming that there were no complications.
“Mother’s concern is very strong”
Tannaz also spoke at length about parenting and why she consciously avoids becoming an overprotective mother.“I’m not a worried mother because I think a mother’s worry is very powerful,” she said.The actor explained that he strongly believes in spirituality and manifestation.“If you constantly worry about your children, you start expressing those fears. In the same way that prayer expresses positivity, fear can manifest negativity,” he explained.According to him, many parents in India unwittingly pass on anxiety to their children.“Half the problems children face are often projected by their parents through fear and overthinking,” he said.He added that loving children also means giving them freedom and trusting them.“If you really love your child, let them go and have faith in them. That’s what being a mother is all about,” she shared.
