The high-voltage clash between Super Kings and Super Giants is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
CSK captain Rutoraj Gaekwad said during the toss that the decision to bowl was influenced by the pitch conditions and the presence of moisture under the covers after overnight rain. Gaikwad confirmed that the Super Kings have gone with an unchanged playing XI for the match.
“We will bowl first. The wicket was under cover, and there was rain around. The pitch behaves differently in day games, but we need to adapt well and then restrict them to low scores. The way the last 7-8 games have been quite positive for us. It has been a good turnaround, and we will try to stay positive. We are playing the same team,” Gaikwa said.
Talking about the toss, Pant said that the team would have bowled first and emphasized the need for better finishing at crucial moments of the matches. The LSG captain added that his team must give their all in every game and confirmed two changes to the playing XI.
“We should have bowled first. We need to win all the games, but we have to be consistent and play some good cricket. We had our moments and chances, but we didn’t finish it. We have to give 200% in every game – two changes, Inglis comes in, Ayush comes in for Mayank,” said the LSG captain.
