The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the NDA-1, NA-1 and CDS-1 Result 2026 on its official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates who qualify the written test will now proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview. The result PDF contains the roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates. As per the official CDS 1 Result PDF, a total of 8,826 candidates have qualified for the SSB interview round. The next question for many candidates is what happens after clearing the written test. The SSB interview is the most important stage after the written test and is conducted to assess personality, leadership skills, communication skills and overall suitability for the armed forces.
NDA, NA candidates have to register within two weeks.
Candidates shortlisted in UPSC NDA and NA 1 examinations should register online on the Indian Army Recruitment website within two weeks from the date of declaration of results. After registration, candidates will get details regarding their SSB interview center and interview dates through their registered email id. The last dates are:
- IMA and INA: Before 1 January 2027
- AFA: Before 13 November 2026
- SSC Course: Before 1st April 2027
How to Register for SSB Interview
Depending on their course preferences, candidates have to register through the respective defense service portals.Indian Army (IMA/OTA): Candidates applying for IMA or OTA have to register through Indian Army website and fill their SSB interview preferences.Indian Navy (INA): INA candidates need to complete profile registration and submit SSB center selection through Navy portal.Indian Air Force (AFA): AFA candidates can check SSB allotment details through their Air Force login dashboard.
What happens during SSB interview?
The SSB process usually lasts for five days and includes:
- Screening test
- Psychiatric assessment
- Group work and discussions
- Personal interview
- Final round of the conference
What happens after SSB interview?
Candidates recommended by the SSB Board are then medically examined before the final merit list is prepared. Selected NDA candidates later join the National Defense Academy for training, while successful CDS candidates move to their respective military academies for officer training.
