The development comes after the actor’s mother strongly rejected the suicide theory, demanding a CBI probe and alleging that her daughter was killed. His petition has not only challenged the original findings of the police, but has also cast a serious shadow over the manner in which the case was investigated.
The Allahabad High Court has directed SHO Sarnath to submit a counter affidavit
According to Hindustan Times, the Allahabad High Court has directed the two accused to file their responses to the petition. The officer of Station House, Sarnath has also been asked to file a counter affidavit, and the judge has made it clear that failure to comply will result in the officer being summoned to appear before the court on May 22.
What did the police say when they found Akanksha Dubey’s body?
When the actor’s body was first found in a hotel in Varanasi’s Sarnath area in 2023, the police were cautious about drawing firm conclusions. While early findings seemed to point in the direction of suicide, officials made it clear that nothing could be confirmed until the autopsy report was in. “The prima facie report suggests that it could be a case of suicide. But we have to wait for the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death,” an official said then.
