Speaking on Soha Ali Khan’s ‘All About Her’ podcast, Neetu Kapoor didn’t mince words when sharing her views on professional therapy. “I don’t believe in therapists, really. I believe in friends. You should have four or five close friends, and things you can really talk about with them,” she said, making it clear that it’s human connection, not clinical intervention, that counts in difficult times.

Despite her reservations, Neetu Kapoor revealed that she briefly explored therapy after Rishi Kapoor’s death, at the urging of those close to her. This experience, however, only strengthened his skepticism. She said: “When Rishi passed away, people told me to go to a therapist. I was very low and I spoke to one, but I asked myself, ‘What am I doing here?’ Until I’m mentally strong too, what can therapy do? They tell you to meditate, to count numbers, to do this and that… sounds silly to me. You need to give yourself time. You have to decide if you want to become strong and move forward.’
