Ameesha Patel apparently he has tapped into the growing PR culture of the younger generation of actors and the film industry. The actor, who recently had his flight diverted in Oman amid the UAE-Iran conflict, took to social media to share strong views on stardom, box office success and the “fake PR machinery”.On Friday, Ameesha took to X and posted several tweets criticizing what she described as “perception-building games” in the industry.
“Call yourself a superstar only after creating history at the box office”
The actor for the first time faced the negativity of YouTubers and trolls, saying that stars should not be influenced by criticism.“Never feel bad or angry with some negative YouTubers who always wake up with negativity and criticism for every star. We stars should feel happy for them instead of being hurt by them… after all, talking bad about us, their kitchen is running,” he wrote.Ameesha then turned her attention to actors who call themselves ‘superstars’ without much success at the box office.“Call yourself a superstar only if you’ve landed any work that creates history and disaster at the box office. Until then stop playing PR games to call yourself a superstar. Sorry, but that’s the harsh reality,” he posted.
“Making an average of two films a year doesn’t make you a star”
The Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai actor further said that many actors today have not given a single blockbuster despite establishing themselves as stars.“Lots of female actors who haven’t even achieved solo success in their careers so far are calling themselves stars. Doing an average of two films every year and being on a few sets doesn’t make you a star. All you become is an actress who is part of projects,” wrote Ameesha. He also commented on the changing box office landscape and questioned the actors being used by the alleged PR teams to project themselves as leading stars.“Most actresses who haven’t had a single film in their career, when not a single film has made more than 200 crores at the box office, pay their PR teams to call themselves number 1 and 2? Really? It’s 2026 and not 2000. Today 100 crore is nothing,” she added.
Ameesha mentions hits ‘Gadar’ and ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’
Ameesha Patel also highlighted her filmography while talking about superstardom and box office records.“A star becomes a global superstar only when he delivers big hits all over the world,” he wrote, before adding, “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Gadar 1 or Gadar 2…”. 3 single biggest blockbusters as the most successful hero in the three films I have given. The actor also said that these films remain among the biggest hits of his co-stars’ careers.
‘Gadar 3 will create chaos in the theaters’
Ending his message on an optimistic note, Ameesha teased Gadar 3 and predicted huge box office numbers for the franchise.“Gadar 3 will surely come and jab aayegi, theater mein hungama mach jayega. With the audience’s love and God’s blessings, 500 crore is just the minimum number at the box office for a brand like Gadar,” he wrote. He promised that the upcoming installment would be mounted on a much larger scale, with a “dhamakedar” script.
