Parmeet Sethi, Archana Puran Singh and their children Aaryamann and Aayushmaan are quite popular on social media with their YouTube channel. In a new vlog, Parmeet revealed that his mother, Sushil Sethi, was accidentally shot as a child while living in what is now Pakistan, and the bullet remained lodged in her body for almost two years due to the limited medical technology of the time.In a video shared on Aary Vlogs, Parmeet recalled his mother cooking one of her recipes with her son, Aaryamann Sethi. Describing Sushil as a “total film”, he recounted the family’s relocation to Ahmedabad after Partition, before finally settling in Mumbai.Recalling the harrowing episode, Parmeet said, “Across the partition, he was shot. He got a bullet.” Although he did not mention the exact city where they lived at the time, he reported that the mother was around 10-12 years old when the incident occurred.Explaining the circumstances, he said: “A tailor used to come to their house to sew clothes. There used to be a gun in my grandfather’s house, so he entered the house to steal the gun. He wanted to use it in riots.”Parmeet added that his mother woke up after hearing noises inside the house. “He asked her not to make any noise and she was about to scream and he shot her,” he recalled.Because medical facilities were limited during that period, doctors were unable to immediately trace the bullet. “The bullet was going through her body. No one knew where she was,” Parmeet said, adding that her mother had been unwell for almost two years and had to stay away from school during that time.By then, the family had moved to India. He recalled how the bullet was eventually discovered by accident. “One day, the nurse was giving him a massage and the bullet just barely came out of his back. He was immediately taken to the doctor. He was operated on and the bullet was removed. It was after 1-2 years,” he shared. In another older video posted on Archana Puran Singh’s YouTube channel, Parmeet and Archana also talked about how they kept their marriage a secret for almost eight years. Therefore, they continued to address each other’s parents as “uncle” and “aunt”.“We didn’t want anyone to know that we got married,” Archana said, adding, “So that uncle and aunty are still going. And everyone is happy with that.”Parmeet’s mother died a few years ago. In an earlier interview with Instant Bollywood, Archana also recalled the difficult moment when she learned about her mother-in-law’s death while shooting for a comedy show.“There was a comedy show, and when I found out my mother-in-law passed away I think we were halfway through the episode. I told them I had to go, but they asked me to sit in on the show. I laughed and imagined, in my mind, what was going on now that my mother-in-law had just died. I don’t know how I laughed. After spending 30-40 years in this industry, you know that the producer’s money is invested in it. You cannot leave your work unfinished. Even my husband understood. Everything went dark, I couldn’t see anything; They just said ‘action’, and I laughed and laughed. I thought, who would have such a fate, they had to laugh even after hearing such news… but the show must go on.’
