The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Friday, May 8, 2026 announced the results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination for February-March 2026. The Class 10 exams were held from February 20 to March 18 across Maharashtra under extensive vigilance and anti-corruption measures introduced by the board and state authorities. This year, the overall pass percentage of new regular students was 92.09 percent, a decrease of 2.01 percent compared to last year’s result of 94.10 percent. More than 1.5 lakh regular students appeared in the examinations held at thousands of centers across the state.
More than 1.6 lakh students registered for the SSC exam
According to the official data released by the board, a total of 16,14,050 students, including regular, private and re-candidates, registered for the SSC exam this year. Out of the total registered candidates, 16,00,164 students appeared for the examinations while 14,52,246 students passed.

Girls have higher pass percentage than boys.
Girls once again scored higher than boys in Maharashtra’s SSC exams. Among new regular candidates, girls scored 94.96%, while boys scored 89.56%. The difference between the two was 5.40 percent.

Konkan tops the division, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar the lowest
Among the nine divisional boards, Konkan recorded the highest pass percentage with 97.62 per cent. Chhatrapati Sambhaj Nagar had the lowest pass percentage at 88.41%.

The board also released grade-wise performance data for regular students. More than 4.22 lakh students secured distinction by scoring 75% or more.

Latur recorded the highest number of 100 percent scorers.
A total of 179 students have secured 100% marks in the SSC exam this year. Across all divisions, Latur has recorded the highest number of perfect scorers.

The result of more than 6600 schools was 100 percent.
The Maharashtra Board said that 23,698 secondary schools participated in the SSC examinations this year. Of these, 6,612 schools secured 100 percent results. The board also confirmed that examinations were conducted in 64 subjects across eight mediums including Marathi, English, Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Sindhi and Telugu.
Special arrangements and additional facilities for students
The Board continued its concessionary schemes and support measures for students with special needs and co-curricular achievements. A total of 10,031 disabled students registered for the examination. Of these, 9,912 appeared for the examination and 9,042 passed, which is a pass ratio of 91.22%. Additionally, 2,76,391 students secured extra or concessional marks for participation and success in activities including sports, NCC, Scout and Guide, classical arts, folk arts and drawing competitions.
ATKT Facilitation and Improvement Scheme is available.
The board said that 41,065 students are eligible for ATKT (permission to maintain conditions) facility after failing in one or two subjects. Students who pass all subjects in a single attempt are also eligible for the Grade Improvement Scheme. Under this facility, candidates can re-appear in June-July 2026, February-March 2027 and June-July 2027 exams to improve their scores.
Board introduces counseling support after results.
After declaration of results, Maharashtra Board launched online counseling support services for students and parents. Ten state-level counselors have been appointed to provide academic guidance and emotional support for eight days after the declaration of results. The Board has also enabled helpline support through Telemanas and Manudarshan services. Apart from this, 315 district level counselors have been appointed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training.
Commencement of mark authentication and photocopying applications
Students desirous of verification of marks, photocopy of answer sheets or re-evaluation can apply online through the official website of the board. Applications for photocopies and verification of marks will be accepted between 9th May to 23rd May 2026. The board said that re-evaluation applications can be submitted only after obtaining the photocopies of the answer sheets. Students will have to pay Rs 50 per subject for verification of marks, while photocopying of answer sheets will cost Rs 400 per subject. Renewal applications incur a fee of Rs.300 per subject.
