Delhi School Summer Vacation 2026

Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) Delhi has announced remedial classes for students of class 9, 10 and 12 during summer vacation in government schools.According to an official circular issued by the school branch of the Directorate of Education, all government schools in Delhi will observe summer vacation from May 11 to June 30, 2026. However, subject to availability of teaching staff and school facilities, remedial classes for selected students will be conducted from May 11 to May 23, except on Sundays.Classes are being organized to reinforce key concepts and improve the overall learning outcomes of students.

Delhi Remedial Classes 2026: Timings and Schedule

The treatment classes will be conducted in three one-hour intervals.School hours

  • Teachers: 7:20 am to 11:00 am
  • Students: 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM

Schedule by period

  • First Term: 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM
  • Second round: 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
  • Third round: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM

The circular also stated that remedial classes will be conducted separately in different wings in double-shift schools.

Focus on subjects for remedial classes.

For Class 9 and 10, the main focus will be on Science and Mathematics. However, the Head of School (HoS) may add other subjects depending on the academic needs of the students and analysis of results.For Class 12 students, subjects for remedial classes will be decided by the Heads of the respective schools based on academic needs.

Important instructions issued by the Directorate of Education

The Directorate of Education has issued several guidelines for schools and students:

  • School uniform will be mandatory during remedial classes.
  • Attendance of students should be marked online.
  • Parental consent or No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory for students attending the class
  • Special attention should be given to needy students.
  • Library facilities remain open for self-study and book issue

Schools should ensure clean drinking water and other basic amenities for students.The circular added that guest or contract teachers may also be included in remedial classes if required.District Deputy Directors of Education (DDEs) have been directed to monitor the implementation of these classes during summer vacations.
