With its debut season, the show has managed to garner a lot of criticism and praise online. As the story revolves around one of Britain’s most dangerous drug dealers, fans couldn’t stop raving about the thriller series. Here’s how the series ended and what the future might hold for Carter and Guy.
‘Legends’ plot summary
‘Legends’ is a recently released OTT thriller series based on drug trafficking. Created by Neil Forsyth, the story revolves around a group of HM Customs and Excise officers who are sent on an undercover operation. They are given new identities and told to infiltrate one of Britain’s biggest and most dangerous drug gangs to dismantle and end their operations from the inside. The series is set in the early 1990s and stars Tom Burke, Steve Coogan, Hayley Squires, Aml Ameen, Jasmine Blackborow, Douglas Hodge, Charlotte Ritchie, Tom Hughes and many more.
‘Legends’ ending revealed
The finale of the hit series revolves around the undercover operations led by customs officials and their plan to take down the drug cartel run by Carter and Hakan. With plans to smuggle around 200 KG of heroin, the team has a lot at stake. On top of that, Carter learns that Eddie has been aiding and abetting the authorities all along, and orders his men to kill him.Hakan also becomes suspicious of Guy, and later orders him fired from his last job. To be safe, the gang change their plans and instead plan to smuggle the drugs through Germany before taking them to the UK.
Guy tries to settle down before everything else in his daily life
When Guy returns, he takes a break from active duty for the time being. As he adjusts to normal life and his partner, Sophie, and their daughter, he will have a hard time coping with the sudden change of returning to normal life after being in hiding for so long. When the trio visit a nearby zoo and a member of the Turkish gang remembers who he is, Guy is forced away from his family. Sophie, seeing all of this, tells him to complete the first mission and stay away from her and their daughter until everything is sorted out.
The operation is closed
Meanwhile, the authorities decide it is too dangerous to continue the undercover operation. As they try to shut down the program, Blake convinces everyone that they should at least be given a chance to finish the mission before operations are completely suspended. Without any additional funding or resources, Erin, Bailey and Kate successfully infiltrate and stop the gang’s trail in Germany, Guy joins the team to finally finish the mission and stop Carter and Hakan’s gang.
Carter and Hakan’s fate
At the end, Guy delivers the drugs while Carter checks everything and hands over the money and Mylonas. However, when the gang decides to kill Guy and Mylonas, the former secretly warns Don before the authorities step in and capture the gang members. While most of the gang members are under arrest, including Carter, Hakan ends up escaping from space and evading arrest.The ending is left open, showing Hakan hiding out with a woman in a nearby apartment. When she tells him that she is fine and that she knows who she is, Hakan realizes that she is Zeki’s mother, the same person who betrayed her. Scene Hakan loses consciousness as the police enter the apartment, suggesting that he too be arrested.The show ends with Eddie, who escaped before Carter could kill him. Bailey tells him how Carter has been arrested, revealing that Eddie feels at peace, knowing that his son’s death has been avenged for Carter and his drug dealing. He is shown spending time with his daughter in an unknown location.The series premiered on May 7 on Netflix, and currently has a total of 6 episodes.
