Palak Tiwari has made his mark in the Chandigarh-based rap drama ‘Lukkhe’, playing a musician alongside singer-rapper King, who is cast under his real name Arpan Kumar Chandel for the first time. Tiwari speaks warmly of the experience, describing King as a generous co-star who plays with remarkable ease. He also credits his influence for sparking a deep curiosity about the Indian rap scene.

Palak Tiwari has called King a “phenomenal artist”.

According to Variety India, Palak is full of praise for his colleague, saying, “Arpan is an amazing artist. He brings out the best in everyone around him. Not because he’s trying or teaching anything, but because his energy is so high. This is her first time performing ‘Lukkhe’, and some of my favorite scenes from the show are with her. I’m very protective of our chemistry and what that did for our characters. He is very prolific, both as a person and as an actor. It really matched my energy in every way. We are both the protection of the dynamic shared by our characters. It was so special. It’s fun to talk about him in a serious way because our relationship is rooted in jokes! And that makes it so much more fun. It is also shown in our characters.”

Pala praises Tiwari Hanumankind

Palak also gets to talk about rapper Hanumankind, whose real name is Sooraj Cherukat, and what makes the Indian rap scene so compelling. “It’s not too mainstream, but I think everybody’s a fan of Hanumankind, right? I think it’s a big deal. Usually, it’s always our culture that’s taken from somewhere else and reshaped. But the way Indians have owned rap… There’s no copying or stealing. It is so original and earthy. The stories we have to tell are so deeply rooted, it’s exciting,” he says.
