After a historic run at the Indian box office, ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is gearing up for a digital release.Ahead of the release by the streaming giants, fans of the Ranveer Singh starrer have directed it Aditya Dhartook to social media to share screenshots of the film’s title card allegedly appearing on OTT sites. According to the viral message doing the rounds on social media, the film will be released on May 15, after its 8-week theatrical run.

According to the title card, the film will be released with the extended title ‘Dhurandhar The Revenge (Raw and Undekha)’. It will start broadcasting from May 15 at 12:00. The digital version is set to play in HD and 4K formats with Dolby 5.1 audio support. The running time of the OTT cut is 3 hours, 52 minutes and 24 seconds, suggesting the possibility of additional footage or an extended uncensored version played in Indian cinemas.While an official announcement is still awaited, the film will reportedly be released in India on JioHotstar, and international audiences will be able to watch it on Netflix from the same date.

The announcement comes after the film completed its 50-day run in theaters and officially completed its 7-week run at the box office. Directed by Dhar, “Dhurandhar 2” broke multiple records during its theatrical run and crossed the net mark of Rs 1,140 crore in India, while earning over Rs 1,791 crore worldwide.

To expand the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise

The announcement was further teased by the makers that director Dhar was not yet with ‘Dhurandhar’ and fans could expect an update on the franchise this year.‘Dhurandhar’, which was released in two parts, has become the most successful Indian film franchise of all time. The films crossed the 3.1 billion mark in worldwide collections since the release of just two films.
