Lisa KudrowPhoebe Buffay, best known for playing the beloved sitcom ‘Friends’, has opened up about her comments about Ross Geller after her ‘bad boyfriend’ went viral online.Appearing on “The View” Thursday to promote the latest installment of “The Comeback,” Kudrow was asked to discuss one of the most debated questions in television history, whether Ross and Rachel really broke up when he slept with Chloe in Season 3. He made his original remarks on the matter in a previous appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, but on The View, he was ready to set the record straight.
Lisa Kudrow directs comments about Ross Geller
“Okay, can I say more about that? Because that wasn’t the whole thought,” Kudrow told the panel. He previously weighed in on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ and blasted Ross for his behavior during the memorable two-parter, particularly his reaction to having to work instead of enjoy the anniversary dinner hosted by Rachel. She also explained, “He wasn’t a good boyfriend at that point, and then he got better at the end, and he was sending, ‘Yeah, go to Paris. Don’t think twice. It’s a great opportunity.’ But, you know, in that ‘we were on a break’ season, I didn’t care if he cheated on me. He didn’t fully support her career and her work and her dedication to it and she rejected it. Like, ‘Well, I haven’t seen you in three nights because you had a seizure.’ And, yes, that worried me.”Kudrow also acknowledged that the couple’s story had a happy ending, admitting that it was a positive ending. “She loves him. They have a child together. No, he’s not going to Paris, yes,” she said.
A fond memory of Matthew Perry on the set of ‘Friends’
Kudrow, who recently completed a full remake of ‘Friends,’ was asked to share a behind-the-scenes memory that stood out to her. He pointed to Season 8’s ‘The One With the Halloween Party’, which brought back a particularly fond memory of the late Matthew Perry. He revealed that he, Matt LeBlanc, and Perry had a habit of tickling each other in ambushes. “To relax and unwind, Matt, Matthew and I would like to ambush each other and snuggle,” she said. “It’s scary, but someone would be undercover. They’d walk through it. That’s how you went. And so we’re doing the Halloween episode, and we’re all dressed up, and Sean Penn was on it, and he walked by Matthew Perry, wearing a giant pink bunny, and he walked by Matthew, and Matthew said, ‘Which.’‘ And then he came and said, ‘I thought Sean Penn was going to try to tickle me!’ We laughed so hard. Of course, Sean Penn wouldn’t give a damn. It was a lot of fun.”It was a lighthearted and loving tribute to Perry, who passed away in October 2023, and recalled the warmth and humor that clearly defined life behind one of television’s most beloved shows.
