Recently, Ganesh Poojari, the manager of Bengaluru’s flagship restaurant Central Tiffin Room, spoke about the two stars’ memorable visits with their husbands. Ranveer Singh and Virat Kohli.Ganesh recalled the chaos that followed Virat and Anushka’s visit to the restaurant in 2023. He shared that he had initially dismissed calls informing him of their arrival, assuming they were fake. In an interview with Pinkvilla Biz, she said, “I thought it was ‘fake,'” she said, adding that despite repeated calls from a “local reference who manages the VIP movement,” she believed it was just “hype.”He also revealed that even after several updates, he remained unconvinced until the couple actually arrived. “I got a last call saying they’re around the corner, and they’ve come in two cars. I still thought it wasn’t real and after that, two cars came out of the driveway,” he recalled. The restaurant cleaned the entire floor to make the couple and their families comfortable.Ganesh described Anushka as “very good” and when asked how she knew the restaurant, the actress fondly recalled visiting it during her college days. “She couldn’t remember the last time. She said it was a while ago and now: ‘I came with my family and my husband. We don’t have time, but we came. We’ve been looking forward to it for so long, so we had to bide our time and come here,” he said.Although aware of Virat’s popularity, Ganesh admitted that he underestimated the frenzy their visit would create. “I don’t watch cricket because of my busy schedule. I thought yes, that might have affected it but it didn’t to some extent,” he said.Recalling the crowd outside the restaurant as the couple prepared to leave, he added: “At that moment, outside the restaurant, the whole road was blocked, no vehicles could pass and people were waiting madly for the couple to come out. When we opened the doors, they couldn’t even get in the car.”After the incident, the restaurant also received a call from the local police station, asking them to notify the authorities in advance whenever famous dignitaries visited. “Then we got a call from the police station saying that the next time someone like this comes, we have to report it, otherwise charges will be filed. It’s something we have to follow up on and we didn’t know then. But it was really fun hosting them and it was really good,” he shared.Ganesh also recalled hosting Deepika and Ranveer at the restaurant and revealed that although they were aware of Deepika’s visit, Ranveer’s arrival was a surprise. He mentioned that the actor personally thanked the chef after the meal.Sharing a humorous anecdote from their visit, Ganesh said that one of the staff was stunned after an interaction with Ranveer. “One of my staff, he was very surprised to see the couple. That’s what Ranveer did… He’s very energetic, so he picked him up, hugged him and brought him down, at which point he froze. That was quite funny,” he recalled.
