Angelina Jolie She has won a legal victory in her dispute with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.As the couple battles over French winery Chateau Miraval, Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled Monday that Angie must not disclose emails related to the sale of the property. TMZ reports that the 22 emails sought by Pitt’s legal team are protected under legal privilege. The update comes after the court ruled that a previous judge erred in ordering Jolie to hand over the emails in December 2025, sending the case back to a lower court for reconsideration. While not all of the emails were strictly between attorney and client, the court determined they contained “legal strategy,” making them privileged and therefore exempt from disclosure.Jolie also sought nearly $34,000 in punitive damages against Pitt’s legal team for trying to force the release of the emails, but the court denied that request. In a statement to TMZ, a source close to Pitt said Jolie “shouldn’t celebrate a potential temporary ruling that allows them to keep information about her true intentions out of court.”The dispute is part of a years-long battle between the former couple’s Chateau Miraval, where they once shared and even married. The legal dispute dates back to 2022, when Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie for selling her stake in the business without her consent. He said the new ownership disrupted operations. Jolie, however, says she acted within her rights after the negotiations between the two broke down.Last month, the pair were in the news after Pitt sought to avoid a delay in the trial. The actress said in her filing that she was being denied “quiet enjoyment” of the property while the legal case continued. Although the trial is currently scheduled for February 1, 2027, Jolie has sought to move the trial to November 2027.
