Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh feels Rohit Sharma could change Mumbai Indians‘ season if he had previously returned from injury. Rohit made a strong comeback against Lucknow Supergiants at the Wankhede Stadium, playing a match-winning innings to help Mumbai comfortably chase down a huge target.Harbhajan said Rohit’s presence on the field made a huge difference in a struggling team and eased the pressure on the rest of the batting line-up.“Being in the middle is important. You can only do so much sitting in the dugout. But you can make a difference by being in the middle, and that’s exactly what Rohit Sharma did. You needed that foundation to chase so many runs, and he didn’t just lay the foundation, he built two floors on it, leaving little to do,” Harbhajan told Geo.Harbhajan praised Rohit’s innings saying that it would have been even better if he had completed the century. He also believed that Mumbai Indians suffered in Rohit’s absence, especially during their losing streak earlier in the season.“It would have been even better if he had got his century, but while he was there, he played exceptionally well,” he added.“I wish his injury had been fixed a little earlier; who knows, he could have won a game or two during that losing streak and still be alive in the competition,” he noted.Despite the tough season, Harbhajan believes Mumbai still have a slim chance of reaching the playoffs if they keep winning and other results go in their favour.“If they win every game from here and get 14 points, they will give themselves a chance,” he said. Who knows if other teams start losing, net run rate situation at 14 points, anything can happen.
