Actor R Madhavan is very popular and has a huge following since he started his career in the industry. From ‘Alai Payuthey’ to ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ now to ‘Rocketery’ and ‘Dhurandhar’, Madhavan’s chart career has been impressive. However, Madhavan’s son has his own fame now and has carved his own niche, making his father proud. Madhavan’s son Vedaant is a swimmer and represents India, he has won 5 times gold medal in Malaysia Open, he has gold and silver medal in Denmark Open. He was also ranked 5th in the Commonwealth Youth Games. Vedaant now has big dreams and aims to win an Olympic gold medal. In a previous interview, he talked about his disciplined lifestyle as a swimmer. In an interview with Ruhaan Mahreja, he said: “On a hard day, I wake up around 4:30 am and get to the pool by 4:45. I swim from 5 to 7, then stretch and come home. If I have school, I go, and after I come back, I have a snack, rest a little, and then I go back to the pool and continue until 8:30 pm. If I have a gym, after I finish at 9:30, I follow the cycle,” said Vedaant Madhavan. He also reflected on the mental strength required to maintain consistency. “It’s the last one, but it’s about sacrifices. You have to give up some things and believe in the process. The mental fight is very important. One thing my coach told me is to always stay in the present, don’t worry about finals. Focus on the moment. Live in the moment.”Talking about moving away from India, Vedaant shared how the relocation took him outside his comfort zone. “The transition to Dubai was quite smooth. We got along well. Swimming wasn’t a problem because there are a lot of Indians I train with. But balancing swimming, school and social life here was different; that was amazing. However, coming here during COVID helped me to keep training. I sacrificed my comfortable life in India, my friends, and I let go of comfort. The main goal is an Olympic medal. Unfortunately, I couldn’t qualify this year… I just have to improve”.He credited his parents for being a constant source of encouragement. “My parents are very supportive. I’m lucky in that sense, not many kids have the privilege of having parents who really support their dreams. If it wasn’t for my parents, I don’t think I’d be at this stage, not even remotely close. I’m very grateful for that.”Earlier in an interview with GQ, Madhavan spoke about the strict nature of his son’s lifestyle. “As a professional swimmer, Vedaant’s day ends at eight, and then he gets up again at four in the morning. It’s the most demanding part of the job, not only for him, but also for his parents,” he said, adding humorously, “That time is called brahma muhurta, which he believes is the best time for spiritual awakening.“Admiring his son’s discipline, the actor added: “He’s 6’3”, has a swimmer’s body, and follows a hyper-disciplined lifestyle. Eating is also an exercise for him—he relies on chewing and the balance of his meals. I wish I had that kind of discipline; I think I’m actually pretty lazy, I call myself creative. She also spoke about the bond they share, saying, “I want to be a part of my son’s life, the kind that my future grandchildren call me and visit me often. I want someday to be able to ask them, ‘Dad, how did you raise me?’ Of course, I can’t be at every event, but he knows I’ll always show up when it’s important. We don’t talk or say ‘I love you’ every day, but when he needs to talk or find a solution, I’m the one he calls.“
