Robert Pattinson stars as Antinous, Penelope’s “striking rival” who wants to marry the queen and take control of Ithaca. Charlize Theron plays the nymph Calypso. Christopher Nolan brings Homer’s epic to IMAX screens
The trailer gives a “proper first look at the not-so-legendary Cyclops.” Nolan’s film adapts Homer’s ancient Greek epic “The Odyssey” and incorporates key mythological elements, including sirens. Nolan shot “Odyssey” entirely on IMAX cameras. The battle scenes in the trailer hint at a great big screen debut. The film is also facing a lot of pressure at the box office. Nolan has a strong commercial record, but ‘The Odyssey’ is still a “gamble” in the report. The ancient Greek source material of the story is not familiar to all moviegoers, and the budget of the film is 250 million USD. This makes ‘The Odyssey’ the most expensive film of Nolan’s career. The trailer, however, focuses on Odysseus, his family, and their struggle to return home.
